On a sidenote, I think they should mention Cowboy Bebop on that list. In like the first episode, they're on one of the planets and it looks like an old school southwest tavern, fedoras, colorful ponchos and all.

I love mashed up timelines. Schizo tech is fun too. ^^

No, actually I love Samurai Champloo. Its just that when things try to be accurate to a time period and their not, thats when it bugs me. Samurai Champloo is accurate to the time, with the excetion of sly references to modern culture. It doesnt mess up the time frame of the events going on in the series. As awesome as Gintama seems, I cant get halfway through the first episode because it messes up the time period. In Gintama, aliens give modern technology, and even more advanced than modern technology to people living several hundred years ago or so. Now, I have my own problem with the aliens, but I can get over that if the series is good enough, but the fact that its not to the times bugs me enough that Im no longer willing to get over the aliens and so therfore its annoying as hell to have the characters have modern weapons and stuff without a viable reason for it. I dont know, but it bothers me to no end. Maybe Im missing the point of the series, I do love alternate realities and fantasy worlds and stuff, but aliens dont exist so then how can they be used to justify a fantasy? Then again alot of fantasies have creatures that dont exist, thats what makes them fantasy. And thats why Im willing to ignore the aliens if the series is good enough... Thats also why I hae a hard time with series based int he future, because they normally have something to do with aliens.... with exception to Trigun and Cowboy Bebop. But I digress.... I really do spend the entire time yelling at my computer that the technology is out of context with the time period. Kairi could tell you, shes witnessed my supreme annoyance at historical inaccuracies... and trust me when I say I will generally know if is out of context with the time period. And if by chance I dont, I will stop whatever Im watching to look it up to see if I was right or if I should stop yelling at the screen. For example... alot of westerns, as iconic as they are, dont have accurate weapons....
