Gunblade Retreaval

Waking up early that morning, Skye walked lazily over to the now familiar lab door, knocking a couple times before simply walking in. Sedgar nearly never locked his door anyway.. He sat down in a nearby couch, and waited for the doctor to wake up or see his arrival.

*She heard the door slam. And it was perhaps the noise that woke her, afterall she was a light sleeper. She didn't bother dressing, afterall Sedgar had seen her in her shorts and top after her healing yesterday. She had stripped her stockings and sleeves off, her hair was ruffled in bed hair, like a tangled pink jungle. Alyss opened the door slowly, then headed down the stairs to the lobby, looking around for the scientist. She leaned against the doorway sleepily, then met a face that shocked her back to reality*

Hearing the creak of a door above him, Skye looked up to see who it was. "Eh..?" The familiar pink-haired face looked at him in obvious shock, and he merely sighed, looking back into the lobby. "Could you tell me where your... host is, by any chance?"

*Alyss' lips almost curled into a sly smirk, ready to say "In my bedroom" just to irk him, but she knew the dangerous situation. She guarded the doorway as if Sedgar was upstairs anyway, spreading her small body in the width of the doorway itself*

Why? What are you going to do...what are you doing here?

*immediately bare fists shifted into a stance, eyes cautious*

A rematch...? Another fight...?

His eyes lit up, tremendously overjoyed by her offer. "Hah, of course... but here's certainly not the place, nor the time.." He rose from the couch, hands in his pockets, eyes casually closed with a smirk on his face as well. "I'm here to retrieve my item.. that was left here yesterday. I'm sure you know the one I'm speaking of...."

An item....? .......The blade. Right.

*lowering her fists at his "peaceful agreement", Alyss nodded gravely. She took a few steps furthur into the lobby, standing, bare long legs and arms, hands on her hips. She wore a frown, serious eyes, as if he was still looking for a fight*

Yeah. I know about your little toy...I don't know if Sedgar fixed it or not, so you'll have to ask him. Hmph..

"Kitten's still got its claws..." "I see then. S'pose I'll just have to wait until he shows then..." He moved back to the couch and plopped down, casually crossing his legs.

Still staying here? What a dick....

*but her body tensed, as if he was to attack her at any moment. Alyss was still..."afraid" of him, but she knew she could at least survive if he tried to do something. She turned, her back to him, her eyes closed and mouth stubborn, her headphones beeped three times*

I'll make your visit quick...I'll look for Sedgar.

*leaving the lobby, she wandered into an adjacent room, not knowing where Sedgar's room was in the first place. She merely wished to leave that room at once. Alyss stood in the dark workroom, touching the machines that were powered down until Sedgar would wake with one finger as she pondered about the man in the other room. Suddenly...*

The one. Don't. Fail. Alyss..Frey.

....What..?

*her headphones blared, enough for even Skye to hear and she took them off and examined them quickly*

What's wrong with this thing nowadays...picking up random signals..

Eyes darting open, Skye bolted upwards at his own thoughts being spoken... through a computer's voice?? He ran over to the door Alyss left, tracing the place from where the noise came from. He never ran places... Slamming the door wide open, his eyes went from her to the headset in her hands. "What the Hell... just happened here....."

*she jumped the minute she saw Skye, a blur as he rushed into the room. She was already fearful of him attacking here and now she seen him hanging on a doorway looked straight at her*

What is it?!

*clutching her headphones it repeated the words again in it's monotone, technologic voice*

Alyss Frey...I think. You're the. One.

With a yawn, Sedgar came out through a door in the workroom, spotting a frantic Skye and Alyss. "Morning.. you two. Skye, I'm assuming you're here for the gunblade, right..? This way please.." He casually but briskly walked over to him and led him back into the lobby, giving a knowing smile and nod to Alyss as he did so.

*giving a sigh of a relief as Skye followed the other man. Her fingers helf the headphones, looking at them again, thinking...then set them back, rung around her neck. She watched the two from the doorway of the workshop, arms crossed. She knew that Sedgar didn't work on the gunblade last night...what was he going to make up?*

Walking back into the lobby he went into a closet and pulled out the weapon, inspecting it a bit more. "Now, you'll have to forgive me for asking, but I tried all last night and I wasn't able to figure it out. This blade has no screws or openings, seems to only be a solid-forged blade. I didn't want to melt it down either, but the gun itself just won't come out! It's kinda anoying..."

Skye glared at the doctor, in an "AreYouFuckingSerious" look. He snatched the blade from his hands and pressed a button on the bottom of the handle, the gun itself easily popping right out into his hands. "How long is this going to take, Vyland...."

He slapped a hand on his forehead, laughing slightly. "Ahaha, how silly of me! I should have seen that button.. Well it won't take any more than.." Now that he thugh about it, guns weren't really his specialty, so this would take quite a while... "...no more than five hours if I start right now. If you'll excuse me..." He proceeded back into the workstation.

*Alyss had successfully wandered off back to the lobby, crossing her slim legs across each other and taking a breath to relax. Though she had sleep, it was minimal sleep. For a second, she was afraid she had bags under her eyes, before she listened in on Sedgar..*


"...no more than five hours if I start right now. If you'll excuse me..."

Excuse me, but did I just hear five...hours?

*it could have been five seconds, five minutes, but five hours in the same building with Skye was maddening. Alyss leaned back into the couch, unsure what to do now*

Making his way to the workroom, he notices Alyss's reaction, and discreetly motions for her to come along with him.

*to the gesture, she promptly gotten up, stetching and eyeing Skye carefully, then followed Sedgar where ever he was going. Alyss was glad she wasn't going to have to stay in the lobby with him, just in case he tried to pull something dangerous. After stopping, she asked softly so Skye would not hear*

What is it...? Do you need my help? I'm not touching that thing..

*she mumbled, staring fiendishly at the golden weapon in his hands*

"Well, I do need your help, but not with this blade.. I need you to keep Skye entertained so he doesn't do something rash in boredom and anger. Don't worry, I have cameras all through the lab, and a security system, so if he tries anything harmful, he'll be taken care of."

Taken care of...? Taken CARE of?! What types of weapons does he have behind this lab..?

*distracting herself with something other than the thought of having to "entertain" Skye. What could she of all people do to entertain someone like him? She sighed and closed her eyes to take a deep breath*

Okay...I'll do it, but...just because you let me stay here for a day.

*she then sauntered out of his workplace, hoping to the gods that the body on the couch from far away was not him*

(( Yes. That was a sexual innuendo in the first paragraph. ))

Sitting cross legged on the couch (even though other people RP'd it for me but let's just go with it), Skye pondered the odd nature of Alyss's headphones. Clearly it was no malfunction.. it was as if that device had read his mind or something.. his thoughs verbatim. He looked up to see Alyss facing him. "The guy really seems to like ya.." He wasn't smiling at all, just passing time..

*she pushed back the need to blush, hoping that it doesn't show in her cheeks. Her body stiffened a bit at his statement*

He means.......Sedgar...right?

N-Nawt--

*she cleared her throat nervously, speaking correctly this time, then started over again. She tried to redirect the question*

Not really...you'll have to ask him........I'm supposedly am to occupany you while you wait here.

*Alyss, though she saw the spot next to him, she perferred to stand. Her body was tense and she had never been in such a predicament*

To dance with the enemy...

"Because he told you to, right? Figures.." He turned his head toward her, resting it on the seat with his palm. "I can see you're tense.. a natural reaction. And yet, I still feel the need to ask... Why?"

Isn't that obvious?

*Alyss shifted, arms crossed over her chest, somber look on her pink framed face*

You've tried to kill me the first time I met you. I should be the one asking why...

*for a second she looked down, and her headphones crackled, the faint sound of a sentence behind the buzz of silence. Taking the headphones in her hands carefully, she held them, knowing she turned them off and she was sure. Why were they acting up?*

"I believe I told you already, I never intended to kill you. Hell, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself for doing that after your brilliant performance in my courtyard." He looked away for a second, and then decided to try something. Perhaps she'd pick up on it... "You certainly didn't... fail."
